Inheritance shares
In the first degree, the spouse and parents take fixed shares and the rest goes to the children — a son taking twice a daughter's share. Select the heirs to see each person's exact fraction and percentage.
How is it calculated?

Fixed shares apply first: the husband takes 1/4 with children or 1/2 without; the wife 1/8 or 1/4; each parent 1/6 when children exist.

The remainder is divided among children at two shares per son to one per daughter (Art. 907 Civil Code).
